A model for optimum offset between two signalized intersections
An expression is derived for the optimum offset between two successive intersections with minimum delay as a criteria. The method of joint curvi‐linear multivariable regression analysis is used. The expression gives a good fit when compared to the simulated results. The derived expression can be applied to most situations and it is particularly useful on artery roads leading to a city centre where the effects of closed path can be ignored.
