Teaching Statics of Structures by Interactive Computer Program
Intended as a teaching aid for basic engineering statics and strength of materials, a suite of programs has been written that explains the principles, presents exercises for interactive solution, and sets homework problems that are unique for each user. Later, it checks solutions submitted, records performance, and offers explanations where required. Experience gained during two years of its use at the University of New South Wales, is summarised.
