The contribution of the cracked stretched concrete is taken into account in the calculations of structures to estimate accurately the deformations and also to limit, for the sake of security, the opening of cracks. The aim of this study is to lay down the expressions which are necessary to perform these calculations, the basic element of which is the tie-beam. Some methods of calculation resting on the relation between the adherence-stress and the steel-concrete sliding are produced according to the specifications of the materials in use, and especially the rate of steel.
