Housing In Transition: The Czech Republic
Housing in almost all Eastern Bloc countries is currently undergoing a “revolution” in tenure and management following the revolutions of 1989. The phenomena in the Czech Republic are in some ways typical, but also locally specific. This paper aims to outline the situation prior to 1989, and to highlight the major changes. In doing so it also points out some of the anomalies, dilemmas and emerging political issues which have arisen from this process.
