Comportement mécanique au triaxial d'un mâchefer d'incinération d'ordures ménagères
MSWI bottom ashes constitute particular granular materials because these industrial by-products are the results from the incineration of domestic waste. The field of beneficial use of these waste mainly lies in the road engineering today, like materials of substitution for the traditional natural aggregates, which are usually used in this field. For this reason, the characterisation of the mechanical behaviour of the material—which is currently little developed—proves to be essential in order to perennalize this field of beneficial use, assuring thus the transition “waste MSWI”/“material MSWI”. This paper presents a first approach of the mechanical behaviour under shear triaxial tests. A special methodology is investigated for the realisation of tests, because of the origin and the specificity of the MSWI bottom ash. The analysis of the mechanical behaviour shows a mechanical behaviour similar to the classic granular materials initially dense.
