A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
The South Australian Planning Review recently launched its Planning Strategy for Metropolitan Adelaide. In the following invited FORUM paper Susan Parham, a member of the Planning Review team, outlines and draws some tentative conclusions about the context, process and content of that Strategic document. She discusses how the Review set about achieving its task, the major issues, ideas and policies which emerged in developing the Planning Strategy, and some of the implications from the process for pursuing a strategic approach in government. The paper does not provide a critical analysis of the Planning Review in terms of either policies adopted or approach taken to the work, but suggests in passing that both should be a rich field for analysis by others in future.
