DELIVERY OF HORIZONTAL CANALS
Bakhmeteff in 1932 conceived the problem of delivery of canals and developed a tabular method of its solution. The method, though breakthrough then, lacks accuracy, as for uniform and critical flows, it approximates the discharge flow depth relationships by power laws. Furthermore, there is loss of accuracy on account of the double interpolation process involved in reading the tables. Reported herein are explicit equations of delivery of horizontal canals for various canal sections.
