Displacement-Based Earthquake Loss Assessment Methodology Adopting Two-Dimensional Equivalent Linearization Approach
A simplified displacement-based earthquake loss assessment model (DBELA) on an urban scale is re-investigated by adopting two-dimensional equivalent linearization approach. Taken the reinforced concrete beam-sway frames as example, nonlinear dynamic time-history analyses are carried out to investigate the validity of DBELA methodology. Numerical comparison indicates that DBELA with two-dimensional equivalent linearization approach can give a precise vulnerability assessment of beam-sway concrete frames and the hysteresis rules of the equivalent linearization approach have a slight influence on the assessment results of DBELA.
