This paper presents a general analytical solution for the buckling pressure of a close-fit non-circular lining subject to external groundwater pressure. It extends Clock's analysis to non-circular lining with annular gap. The results are compared with equivalent finite element analyses. Conditions for accurate solution are given specialy for egg shape with flat straight section.
