Inverse problems in geomechanics
In engineering science, analysis of inverse problems is a rapidly growing discipline following computer evolution and developments in numerical methods. In geomechanics, numerous works are concerning parameter identification in contrast with boundary determination problems. Some review of inverse problems in geomechanics is presented in this work. Discussion on well-posedness of inverse problems is also presented here along with recent developments in the area. Finally, some examples will be discussed. Hybrid methods and interdisciplinary research can be considered in future works.
