Stability of glass fiber reinforcement in a portland cement matrix
The authors have determined the temperature coefficients of the rise in reaction rate between the hardening products of portland cement and silica and aluminum borosilicate glass fibers. They obtain relations for the parameters of heat-moisture treatment of the materials corresponding to long service periods in natural conditions. They study the time dependences of the strength of portland cement reinforced with silica and aluminum borosilicate glass fibers, and find that the strengths of these composites decrease appreciably during the first year after fabrication, but then becomes stable.
