An International Conference, organised by The Welding Institute in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, 26-28 February, 1974, covered the design and fabrication aspects of offshore constructions. The conference was in six sessions: structural design and fatigue; constructional steels and their properties; welding consumables, procedures and weld metal properties; fabrication procedures and non-destructive testing; pipelines and underwater welding; future requirements. The "Proceedings of the Conference" which are to be published, will include both the full content of the papers and the associated discussions.
