Recent developments of instrumentation, control and automation systems for wastewater treatment systems
Hitachi has exerted research and development efforts in an approach to totally integrated control systems so that, through building blocks, such totally integrated control systems may eventually be perfected to ensure highest possible expansibility, flexibility, reliability and efficiency. For instrumentation, we developed water quality analyzers and activated sludge administrating instruments. For control of process unit operations of the inferior control units in a total system, we established water quality control procedures and applied field type digital controllers; for the superior control units, we established computer control systems with man/machine/process interfaces using color display; thesew ere combined into a modern centralized supervisory system. We perfected novel control systems and drives aimed at energy saving and maintenance-free operation.
