Mathematical models and simulation of wastewater treatment systems
In hierarchical multilevel control systems for wastewater treatment systems, control computers, as supremal control units, undertake mode changing and parameter correcting, to effect feed-forward control, optimum control and adaptive control. Hitachi Ltd. is making fundamental studies of mathematical models for influent volumes in wastewater treatment systems and water qualitites in treatment processes , performing analysis of characteristics by static and dynamic simulation. Models applicable to real processes have almost been established, and new control systems that ensure better treatment results are being discovered This paper describes these studies including the various mathematical models, simulation techniques, actual examples of ap-lication, and results of the application.
