Microwave relay station prefabrication on Okinawa
Okinawa, the southernmost prefecture of Japan, is made up of the Okinawa main island, 1,500 km distant from the Japanese mainland, and many detached islands. The microwave route between the Japanese mainland and Okinawa island is already completed. Moreover, microwave system construction between the main island and detached islands is now under way. This paper introduces an outline of prefabricated microwave relay stations which were designed anew to meet requirements such as fierce climate, want of technical experts, lack of construction materials, transport difficulty and so on.
