Measuring heat release rate from fuel gases
Obtaining predictable heating performance from fuel gas combustion requires a knowledge of the fuel's rate of heat release, and this rate varies with composition, pressure and temperature. The Wobbe Index is a meaningful measure of gas heating characteristics, and on-line instruments can be used in several ways to monitor and control fuel gas supplies and optimize fuel consumption.
