Automation of the Philadelphia water system
A multilevel computer-based control hierarchy is planned for one of the nation's oldest municipal water systems, in an effort to update it with state-of-the-art automation techniques. New and existing process facilities will be managed from four control rooms, with extensive use of remote multiplexing and digital data highways.
