Short-circuit currents in distribution armouring
The increase in installed power in modern buildings can result in high power short-circuits,, and consequently cables and equipment can be subject to severe thermal and mechanical stresses, leading to complete destruction of the enclosures. The effect is analysed in the case of a generalised example of a housing with bus-bars and distributed circuits, and fed by two 100 kVA transformers. Article 434 of the NF-C-15-100 standard dealing with protection against short-circuits is reproduced.
