Artificial intelligence in military applications
Artificial intelligence (AI) is considered as the branch of computer science dealing with the development of methods that solve problems previously considered solvable only by humans. Two relevant AI technologies for military applications are expert systems and natural language understanding. Some key applications are discussed. These include the maintenance and trouble shooting of military equipment; decision support; autonomous vehicles for reconnaissance, intelligence gathering or smart weapons; message automation; and training.
