Electronic simulation of desalination processes
The size, complexity and cost of high-autput desalination plants can create difficulties in the training of process engineers and operators due to the possibility of damage that may result from maloperation of full scale plant. The problems may be overcome by the use of the EDCO Engineering Systems Simulator, which is a specialy designed control panel containing sufficient electronic instruments and controllers to monitor the data from more than twenty-five sample points. This paper describes how the simulator may be used to model the behaviour of desalination plants, with particular reference to thermal plants.
