Non linear Finite Element analysis clay brick masonry
This paper describes non linear finite element analysis as applied to clay brick masonry. The theoretical model used is essentially similar to the one successfully used for reinforced and prestressed concrete structures; which modifications for characteristics peculiar to brickwork. Theoretical failure load and predicted crack patterns are compared with some results on experimental model brick walls and published results.
