Submerged water-jet cutting of concrete and granite
Experiments were performed to compare the cutting ability of high-speed (910 m/sec), small-diameter (0.30 mm) water jets operating in a submerged condition with existing data for the cutting performance of a free jet main. Within certain standoff distances, the submerged jet cut as deeply as a free jet operating in air. The theoretical considerations appear to support experimental results. (Kursetz)
