Developments in ground mounted air supported radomes
A review of some of the developments in air supported radomes which may be of interest for new designs. Variations in geometry and material are reviewed. Long term exposure results and electical performance of Hypalon, vinyl, and Teflon coated materials are presented. Guidelines for reliable pressurization systems and methods of installation are outlined. The paper concludes with several examples of air supported radomes, varying from an 8 ft., highly portable, military unit to the 138 ft. diameter torus installed on the CN Tower.
