Three-dimensional stress analysis of thick rectangular plate stiffened with beams
In this paper, a solution for analysis of a rectangular thick plate stiffened with beams is composed of two parts: 1) a particular solution which is derived from three-dimensional elasticity to express rigorously the distributions of stresses and displacements under surface loadings for all simply supported plates; 2) a complementary one derived from the extended Reissner's theory to meet the conditions of two opposite free edges. Stress distributions on plate sections in the vicinity of beam under partially distributed loading are found by the presented solutions and are compared to results predicted by thin plate theory.
