Design and dynamic response of a pulse-jet pavement breaker
This paper discusses the design of a pulse-jet machine that has been built to compress a water charge of 328cm 3 to a maximum pressure of 690NM measurements of the pressure pulse are analysed. An iterative force analysis is described for estimating the effect of the design changes on the pressure pulse. A brief description is given of an alternative design to eliminate recoil and reduce overall length.
