This article discusses various safeguards against fire risks and other areas which could cause injury in the work area of a screen printing shop. Since a fire in a screen shop can spread rapidly, emergency exits and fire escapes should be checked to insure safe escape. The author also discusses where fire extinguishers should be placed and that employees should know how to operate these extinguishers. The danger of smoking in work areas are presented along with ways to prevent employees from smoking in hazardous areas. Other places where safety measures must be taken to prevent injuries are installing proper guards around moving belts and gears of machines and properly marking protruding parts of machines.
