A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A brief description is given of the techniques and methods used for the construction of the prestressed concrete containment building for the gentilly nuclear power station. the containment building consists of a base slab, a circular wall, a ring beam and a dome. the total height is 175 feet measured from the basement floor to the top of the dome. Leaktightness is achieved by the use of an epoxyvinyl lining applied on the interior surface of the containment.
