Testing of a damaged prestressed concrete bridge
The use of diagnostic load testing to determine live load distribution in an undamaged, damaged, and repaired prestressed concrete I-beam bridge is described herein. Brief results from a research project are presented. The effects of lateral impact damage from overheight vehicles is quantified in terms of its effect on the live load distribution in the damaged structure. The replacement of the damaged beams appears to have restored the original live load distribution pattern.
