Noncontact nondestructive testing for structure health monitoring
This paper presents a study on nondestructive testing for bridge inspection using advanced data acquisition capabilities. They are able to quickly obtain a large amount of data for low cost. A probability based approach is proposed to process the measurement data for diagnosing an 'after' state with reference to a 'before' state. For illustration, a lab test was conducted using a laser device for deformation measurement, showing that the concept is promising and further field experiment is warranted.
