Development of high slag blast furnace slag cement with improved early strength
Having the same 28-days compressive strength like Portland cements the blast furnace slag cements show lower early strength after 2 days and higher final strength after 91 days. Due to technical, economical and environmental aspects, FEhS (Forschungsgemeinschaft Eisenhüttenschlacken) has done investigations to improve the early strength. The influence of fineness, sulphate content, sulphates and especially the grain size distribution has been investigated. Some potentials to increase the early strength in different scales have been found.
