In view of the differences between soil-layer properties and rock-layer properties, with different bilinear load-transferfunctions, a set of analytical equations for single pile settlement calculation of rock-socketed piles are established. The socket length, the factors, influencing single pile bearing capacity and settlement of rock-socketed piles and loading-settlement curves are then discussed herein. The discussion indicates that the elastic module of pile and the stiffness of rock at the end of pile are the important factors, influencing single pile bearing capacity and settlement of rock-socketed piles.
