Glass coating for weather protection of outside walls of buildings
N. M. Co., Ltd, Fukui, Japan, has developed a water coating system for protecting the outside walls of buildings and other outside structures with a glass coating. A film of the coating agent is applied in a thickness of up to 20 micrometer on the uneven surfaces in the same manner as electroplating. The transparent glass film is highly effective for preventing discoloration by ultraviolet rays, corrosion by acid rains and soiling by water stains. In washing operations, water washing primarily with a small volume of cleansing fluid enables the appearance to be recovered with ease without having to use an intense cleansing agent as before. The system is gentle to the environment since it uses no toxic substances. The applying operation can be implemented immediately after water washing. The material cost as well as the implementation cost is extremely low, compared with the use of an oil- or fat-based system. The coating is hard and highly durable, in addition to being antibacterial.
