Enhance pipeline reliability with proper installation
This paper will discuss proper installation techniques for both rigid and flexible pipe materials. It will review current ASTM & AASHTO specifications that pertain to pipeline installation and discuss compliance with these specifications. More particularly, the paper will identify pipe properties that need to be considered during installation and their effect on pipeline installation procedures. The limits for deformation and deflection as related to pipeline acceptance will be quantified. The role of the construction inspector in obtaining the quality of installation as envisioned by the designer will be discussed in detail.
