A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A mathematical model is presented for salt contents in waters in combined once-through and recirculation systems. The model was derived from a system of materials balance equation written in the canonical form making it possible to present the model in a determinant form based on the so-called table of inter-plant systems. The model is applicable for any complex water system in the steel industry and other industries for simulation, optimisation, reporting and rationalisation or minimising of the number of necessary experiments. The model was verified with respect to stable and unstable salt components and used to analyse various variants of the water system in Huta Katowice. A preliminary solution for an optimised water system in Huta Katowice was obtained together with a set of additional conditions necessary for its implementation. (VDEh)
