The risks of fire safety in regards to elevator performance in the event of intelligent and controllable emergency evacuation of a modern building were examined. If the buildings were designed correctly, local codes followed and fire engineered, and if elevators were used early in the evacuation strategy, losses of lives and properties could be avoided.
