Low smoke, halogen-free compounds
Flame retardant, halogen-free compounds have commonly been used in wire, cable and other applications for quite a while. Most of the compounds contain a high loading of inorganic filler to meet the flammability requirements. The high filler loading drastically increases the compound viscosity and thereby creates processability problems. The authors have been able to solve these problems and develop a product line that Is processable and has the desired balance of property mix.
