The effect of temperature on the hydration rate and stability of the hydration phases of metakaolin-lime-water systems
The results of curing temperature effects on the kinetics of reaction of a metakaolin (MK)/lime mixture were presented. Mixing of the MK and analytical grade Ca(OH)2 was done in a ratio of 1:1 by weight and specimens were cured at 20 and 60 degree C. The rate constant for the sample cured at 60 degree C was found to be 68 times greater than the rate constant at 20 degree C for same curing period.
