Optimal plastic design of a bar under combined torsion, bending and shear
Optimal plastic design of a bar or beam under torsion with superposed bending and shear is obtained via the boundary perturbation method. Effects of bending and shear are expressed by a small parameter alpha. The results of optimization of solid bars and hollow bars are shown.
