Rapid advances in computer technology have made it possible to simulate extremely complicated, large-scale structural problems. As a direct result of this, structural analysis is now widely used in nearly every possible type of structural design. Kobe Steel has been working on high-level structural analysis and related simulation programs for more than 20 years. By focusing on how designs have been improved, this report outlines the application of such structural analysis to various kinds of products including steel bridges, construction machinery, crushers, automobiles and steel materials.
