Aromatic polysulfones for flame retardancy
A poly(ether sulfone) and a copoly(ester sulfone) were synthesized and characterized using elemental analysis, infrared radiation (IR), H-Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometry, GPC and thermogravimetric analysis. The polysulfones were evaluated as flame retardants for textile materials. The samples subjected to mixed treatment showed a lower thermal stability evidenced by the values of activation energies.
