A series of hyperbranched polyurethane acrylates containing phosphorus were prepared by reaction of a phosphorus-containing triol with toluene-2,4-diisocyanate and hydroxyethyl acrylate at given ratios. The resins obtained were found to polymerize rapidly in the presence of a photofragmenting initiator under UV irradiation, and the maximum polymerization rate increased with temperature up to 135 deg C, then decreased quickly. The UV cured films have fire retardancy with a limiting oxygen index of 27.0.
