Effects of emulsifiers on properties of poly(styrene-butyl acrylate) latex-modified mortars

Effects of emulsifiers on properties of poly(styrene-butyl acrylate) latex-modified mortars were studied. The compressive and flexural strengths of polymer modified mortars using two synthesized polymer lattices with different emulsifiers tend to decrease with increasing polymer/cement ratio. It is found that the polymeric emulsifiers provides a positive effect on the properties of the polymer-modified mortars than a low-molecular emulsifiers.
