Experimental investigation of the local bond stress-slip behaviour of pretensioned strands embedded in plain and steel fiber reinforced concrete
This study present the partial results of an experimental investigation of the development length design for pretensioned strands embedded in plain and steel fiber reinforced concrete. The parameters studied up to now were the aspect ratio (45 and 65) and the volume fraction (0% and 0,5%) of the fibers. There were used short hooked steel fibers. Two types of tests were carried out to obtain the local bond stressslip behavior of the strands: pull-out tests (16 specimens) and beam under flexure tests (2 specimens). The concrete compressive strength was 50 MPa at transfer (3 days of age) and 70 MPa at 28 days of age (test date). The results were analyzed and compared to the provisions of the following Codes: NBR 6118/ 2001 (Brazilian code under public consult), ACI-318/99 and FIBBulletin 1/99.
