Latest development in waterborne two-component polyurethane sealer raw materials for industrial floor coatings
The new generation of binders for aqueous two-component polyurethane (2K PUR) systems presented in this paper make it possible to satisfy the requirements for industrial floor coating applications. The performance of coating, materials formulated with these binders is characterised by above-average mechanical and chemical properties. Furthermore, the systems can be mixed by hand and contain no solvents or cosolvents. Paint film quality can be adjusted over a broad range and can be achieved even under unfavourable climatic conditions during application. The greater film thickness tolerance makes application on the construction site more reliable. Because water serves as the solvent in these systems, water can be used to adjust viscosity and equipment can be easily cleaned. Solvents are no longer needed on the construction site. With these binders, future VOC guidelines can be easily satisfied today. Sealers based on this new generation of raw materials are also economical because of the small amount of polyisocyanate required.
