A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
This study deals with the influence of a new-generation waste produced in fluidized bed combustion installations on the properties and chemical stability of waste-containing cements. The aim of this study was to examine cements based on the two different Porltand clinkers containing different amounts of C3A phase. On the basis of these two clinkers, two cements, CEM II/A and CEM II/B, were prepared with the addition of fluidized bed material obtained from black and brown coal. The properties of the cements were compared with the properties of reference cements (CEM I). It should be underlined that the composition of all cements was calculated in such a way that the maximum tolerable amount of SO3 (3,5 %) was obtained. 10 cements were prepared and tested, their main properties as well as chemical corrosion resistance were studied. A method consisting in the linear dimension measurement of changes was applied to study corrosion resistance for bars (20x20x160 mm) made from standard mortar, kept in standard and high corroding medium. As a corroding medium, the aqueous solutions of Na2SO4 and MgSO4 were used, with the concentration of (SO4)(2-) at 16 (+/- 0,5) g/l.
