Binders free of Portland Cement
The chemical and mechanical studies on the hardening processes of cementitious material - pozzolana - activator binding systems, lead to the following conclusions regarding mechanisms and influence factors of the hardening processes of such binders: (1) The increasing of lime proportion in activator mixture, intensify the hydration processes. (2) The mechanical properties of studied cementitious materials - pozzolana - activator systems are negatively influenced by the pozzolana's proportion, as a consequence of the global chemical conversion decrease, less important for a more powerfull activator mixture. (3)The binding systems with a higher specific surface area can include a higher proportion of pozzolana without a noticeable negative influence on binder quality. (4) By statistical processing of the mechanical data, were established quantitative correlation between mechanical and structural behaviour of studied binders and intrinsic factors of influence (including those created through previous processing - grinding fineness of silicate components of binding systems), for the same components of the binding system.
