Damage of structures due to MgO in concrete and preventive measures
In construction projects, the accidents of the concrete crack often take place due to superfluous f-CaO existing in the concrete. Hence, departments of quality inspection especially think much of invariability test of volume of the concrete that f-CaO exist in. However, little MgO crystallize exists in common concrete. So few people has researched its effect on concrete component. The damage of concrete component, which is resulted from MgO crystallize, often takes place out of the warranty period of houses. It is difficult to control and manage for the department of quality inspection. In this paper, we have researched the damage mechanism of concrete component, which is resulted from MgO crystallize. We have also analyzed the characteristic of MgO crystallize damages on concrete component through typical accident instances, and have given preventive measures. This paper will be very important for establishing and consummating the quality control system of concrete aggregate, and preventing MgO crystallize damages on concrete constructions.
