Systemic approach to the theory of machinery reliability under cold-embrittlement conditions
Temperature relationships of strength of metallic materials are of high importance for the machinery operated under Far North conditions. To estimate the reliability of building machinery in respect to the cold-brittlness of their elements, the systemic approach is more efficient than the atomistic one. Systemic approach to an excavator operated in Far North regions includes not only the machinery but also the frozen ground, the climatic limitations and the operating and servicing personnel in psychophysiological and moral respect. Statistical data on machinery failures collected at their long-term operation can be used for confirming the theoretical assumptions adopted. The destructing factors have to be mathematically formalized and experimentally measured to be used as a basis for the theory.
