Experience of TBM tunnelling since 1965 by Prof. Schneider
Im Beitrag wird exemplarisch anhand einiger wichtiger Tunnelbauvorhaben aufgezeigt, wo Prof. Eckart Schneider in seiner rund über 30 jährigen Praxis, davon 25 Jahre bei der Jäger Bau GmbH, herausragende Erfahrungen mit TBM-Vortrieben gesammelt hat. Es begann 1967 mit dem Einsatz eines Krupp Tunnelfräsers KTF 280 im Albstollen, wurde mit zahlreichen Einsätzen von Robbins-Tunnelbohrmaschinen fortgesetzt und endete mit dem Baulos Nord des Vereinatunnels (1995 bis 1997), wo eine doppeltverspannte, offene Wirth Hartgesteinsmaschine überaus erfolgreich härtesten Gneis und Amphibolit durchörterte. 1996 wurde Dipl.-Ing. Schneider zum ordentlichen Professor für Baubetrieb und Bauwirtschaft an der Universität Innsbruck ernannt.
Over more than 30 years Eckart Schneider gained vast practical experience and a comprehensive knowledge in the realm of mechanized and especially TBM tunnelling. Starting in 1967 being responsible for the operation of a KRUPP tunnel milling machine KFT 280 excavating for the Alpstollen project. Eckart Schneider stayed with Jäger Bau GmbH for the next 25 years to be in charge of the operation of numerous Robbins TBMs. His last step in the operative tunnelling business was with the Vereina tunnel project, Lot North (1995 to 1997). Using a Wirth TBM to drive through hardest gneiss and amphibolite truly successful. In 1996 Mr. Schneider's professional career was crowned with the appointment to a professorship as the headmaster of the Institute für Baubetrieb, Bauwirtschaft und Baumanagement at the University of Innsbruck. This article shall draw the path through his operative career by chronologically describing the projects on his successful way.
