Ship handling simulator is not only widely used in the education and training, but also brought into playing important role in the engineering design or argumentation. The simulating environment is created using virtual reality technology. The environment includes the wind, the current, the wave et al. And the water area of ship navigating is simulated using the computer in the electronic chart form. The viewing imagine which is seen in the bridge room is very clear and living using virtual reality technology. The course of ship going through the appointed seaway is simulated and replayed in the ship handling simulator. The aim of simulating test is to evaluate the ship navigating safety when the ship navigates in the seaway, berths or deberths near the port. Or the aim is to test the dock throughput. There are many data can be recorded and the track is drew on the electronic chart in the horizontal plane. By analyzing and evaluating the record data, we can get the result meeting with the real engineering and designing demand. The result of the simulating test can offer the engineering decision-making testimony in theory.
